TRACE - IAEA 5.1.1

This mobile application is a product of the Coordinated Research Project (CRP) focused on improving the assessment of initial alarms from radiation detection instruments. Its primary aim is to enhance the capabilities of States in preventing, detecting, and responding to incidents involving the illicit trafficking and theft of nuclear and other radioactive materials beyond regulatory control.

The application provides a comprehensive overview of Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) utilized in international trade, along with pertinent information regarding the Harmonized System Code (HS Code). Additionally, it serves as a valuable guide for member States, facilitating proper assessment of radiation instrument alarms. This functionality is crucial for addressing challenges related to the trans-boundary movement of nuclear and other radioactive materials outside regulatory oversight.
